چکیده

This paper provides new test methods and analytical procedures for characterizing the electrical performance of photovoltaic modules and arrays. The methods use outdoor measurements to provide performance parameters both at standard reporting conditions and for all operating conditions encountered by typical photovoltaic systems. Improvements over previously used test methods are identified, and examples of the successful application of the methodology are provided for crystallineand amorphous-silicon modules and arrays. This work provides an improved understanding of module and array performance characteristics, and perhaps most importantly, a straight-forward yet rigorous model for predicting array performance at all operating conditions. For the first time, the influences of solar irradiance, operating temperature, solar spectrum, solar angle-of-incidence, and temperature coefficients are all addressed in a practical way that will benefit both designers and users of photovoltaics.

Design of Maximum Power Point Tracking in Solar Array Systems Using Fuzzy Controllers

In recent year's renewable energy sources have become a useful alternative for the power generation. The power of photovoltaic is nonlinear function of its voltage and current. It is necessary to maintain the operation point of photovoltaic in order to get the maximum power point (MPP) in various solar intensity. Fuzzy logic controller has advantage in handling non-linear system. Maximum power ...

Calibration of Photovoltaic Module Performance Models Using Monitored System Data

Calibration of a photovoltaic module performance model currently relies on measurements of electrical output taken with the module outdoors on a two-axis tracker, or indoors using a solar simulator. These measurements require expensive infrastructure. By contrast, measuring electrical performance for systems outdoors on fixed racking is substantially cheaper, yet no method currently exists to t...

Field Experience with a New Performance Characterization Procedure for Photovoltaic Arrays

As photovoltaic systems become larger and more numerous, improved methods are needed for testing and modeling their performance. Test methods that successfully separate the interacting, time-of-day dependent influences of solar irradiance, operating temperature, solar spectrum, and solar angle-of-incidence have now been developed. These test methods have resulted in a new array performance mode...

A novel model for photovoltaic array performance prediction

Based on the I–V curves of a photovoltaic (PV) module, a novel and simple model is proposed in this paper to predict the PV module performance for engineering applications. Five parameters are introduced in this model to account for the complex dependence of the PV module performance upon solar-irradiance intensity and PV module temperature. Accordingly, the most important parameters, i.e. the ...
